About this place
If you’re choosing just one, start with the plain melon bread and compare its crisp exterior with the soft centre. Diners have described it as crisp on the outside and fluffy within. Kiwami Melonpan also offers flavours including chocolate, matcha, caramel and Royal Maple. One customer found the chocolate version not too sweet and easy to finish; another enjoyed the balance between the chocolate topping and the cocoa-flavoured dough inside the chocolate chips. If you’re curious about the sweetness, trying the plain and chocolate versions side by side could be a good way to decide.
For something a little different, consider maple, almond or tea-flavoured melon bread. One diner said the maple version stood out for its extra-crisp texture. Some found the tea flavour reminiscent of royal milk tea, and described it as not too sweet. The menu also lets you add whipped cream to your choice of melon bread for +100 yen, or ice cream for +150 yen, making it more of a dessert. For something to take away beyond sweet buns, there is Kiwami Rich Loaf, made with melon-bread dough, as well as sweet potato and apple pies. A customer who tried the loaf said the dough itself was sweet and moist enough to enjoy plain. Whether you’re after bread for breakfast or a sweet treat, there are options for different moods.
Drinks include Assam tapioca milk tea made with Indian tea leaves and black-syrup tapioca milk made with Okinawan brown sugar. All listed drinks come in L size (400 ml), making them an easy pairing to take away with your bread. The Teradacho shop offers breakfast, and is open from 10 to 20 from Tuesday to Sunday. It is closed on Mondays.
